A group of parents concerned about their children’s education submitted a memorandum to the District Collector’s office on Monday demanding that schools start offline mode at the earliest.
Around 192 students are currently studying in this JNV and 40 new students will be admitted this year. The JNV at Vankal was allotted in 2019 and construction work at the site started two years ago. It was to be completed in November 2021.

“The state government is celebrating Shala Pravesh Utsav, but our children do not have access to proper education. The parents of a class VIII student said, they will face big problems in future due to the break of almost three years from offline education.
Another parent claimed that their child’s mental and physical development had stalled. “I can see that my child’s studies have almost stopped. He will not be able to develop even physically if school does not start,” said the father of a Class VII student.
“At present, students of classes VI to IX study in the school. Those who took admission three years back have not yet visited their school. The school has enough teachers but the building is not ready,” said the parents of a class VIII student.
Officials of the District Collector’s office claimed that the contractor could not complete the work on time due to the rising cost of construction material. “The construction is likely to be completed by August,” he said.
