Vadodara: A laborer engaged in construction work died after being buried under Earth He was carrying out site work for a commercial complex in the Racecourse area of the city on Saturday when he collapsed.
The incident took place around 11 am. The laborers were working in a large excavated part of the plot where underground construction is being done.
According to Gotri Police, Ramesh Parmar, a resident of a village in Limdi taluka of Dahod district, got trapped under the mud when the embankment collapsed. Two other laborers present nearby escaped unhurt.
Gotri Police Sub Inspector Rt Patel The officer investigating the incident said that at the time of the incident, the workers were removing the sheets used for centering at the construction site. The incident was registered as accidental death.
Fire brigade personnel of Vadodara rushed to the spot. Nikunj Azad, station officer of Vadiwadi fire station, said Parmar was buried five to six feet under the ground. Azad said, “He was brought out after a long time and was believed to be dead by the time he could be rescued.”
