Mangaluru: Bharatesha Alasandemajalu (in pic) has been selected for the Wikimedia Summit 2024 to be held in Berlin, Germany, from April 19 to 22.
An active member of the Karavali Wikimedians User Group in Mangaluru, he will be an ambassador for Tulu and Kannada languages.
Joining more than 150 multilinguals from over 100 countries, he will take part in Wiki Moment 2030 ratification discussions, User Group representative meetings, and challenges of regional languages.
He is the son of Bojappa Gowda A and Girija AB.
Bharatesha hails from Alasandemajalu in Puttur taluk. Currently employed at the Bank of Baroda, he is a former member of the Karnataka Arebhashe Samkruthi mathu Sahitya Academy.
He collaborated with the Wikimedia Foundation to produce Tulu’s first research documentary, ‘Pursa Kattuna’, which was selected for international film festivals.
