Rallies, Rituals Mark Day In Ramgarh | Ranchi News – Times of India

Ramgarh: Ramgarh (or ‘the place of Ram’ as locals call the town) on Monday witnessed a mega rally attended by thousands of people holding saffron flags and organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and other religious outfits. The rally was attended by men, women, children and members of various social, cultural, business and industry outfits.
Religious rallies were also brought out in Patratu, Bhurkunda, Barkakana, Kuju, Mandu, Chitarpur, Gola and other places of the coalfield region in Ramgarh.Almost all temples including famous Chhinnamastika temple in Rajrappa and Vaishno Devi temple in Ramgarh town organized special pujas. Several social and business communities distributed food items to devotees by setting up stalls in various places of the town. Rajrappa temple, one of the famous pilgrimages in the state, organized special prayers and recitation of Ramayana verses on the occasion of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
Chief temple priest Ajay Panda said the temple hired a 12-member team from Kolkata to sing devotional songs till late night on the occasion.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad state joint secretary and chief of Ayodhya temple consecration campaign in the state Manoj Poddar said religious processions brought out not only in cities but also in panchayats and villages and devotees showed their spiritual fervour peacefully.
The district administration deployed additional security forces in Ramgarh town and other sensitive places. Security forces were also deployed at Rajrappa temple with a magistrate.
Ramgarh DC Chandan Kumar said temples, mosques and religious places were given adequate security cover with magistrates across the district while the DC along with SP Piyush Pandey visited various places to monitor arrangements made by the administration to maintain law and order.
