Samsung: This Samsung Galaxy S23 gaming feature may come to older models – Times of India

SAMSUNG introduced its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S23 series, in early February. The lineup includes three smartphones: the vanilla Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. With this series, the South Korea-based tech giant announced new features to enhance the gaming performance of the Galaxy S23 lineup. Samsung also activated the “Pause USB Power Delivery” feature with its latest premium smartphone series. The feature may reportedly support older smartphones and has also been seen in models available in some regions.

Also known as the battery bypass feature, this prevents the phone’s battery from being charged, and instead sends power from the connected charger directly to the chipset. stop usb power The delivery feature is claimed to improve the gaming performance of the phone by preventing the battery from heating up. Samsung claims that this feature will also help in improving the battery health of the smartphone. According to the company, when the phone is not charging continuously, the feature reduces battery charge cycles to keep the battery healthy for longer.

Older Galaxy models may get this feature
According to a report by SamMobile, users in some regions have seen this feature in older models such as the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy A73. The report states that the gaming feature is visible only to users who have updated the Game Booster app to version 5.0.03.0.
Also, for some users this feature is working only with Samsung’s 45W usb pd Charger. According to the report, the toggle to enable the battery bypass feature is also available in older models like the Galaxy S21 series.
However, support for the feature may currently be limited to mid-range and high-end phones released in 2022 and onwards. The report mentions that the feature did not work on the Galaxy S21 Ultra despite using a 45W charger. This feature was first discovered by a blogger named NL Tech.
