Dharwad: Shri Ram Sena will conduct statewide signature campaign Campaign In support of the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code from July 18 (UCC) in country.
Army Chief Pramod Muthalik said: “For the security of the nation, it has become necessary to implement the UCC. The central government should implement UCC without much deliberation.
He said, the campaign aims to collect signatures of five lakh people from all walks of life in a period of two months and it will be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Article 44 of the Constitution talks about equality and hence, the UCC should be applicable. He said that the SRS would reach out to eminent personalities, social thinkers and saints, among others, to pressurize the government for early implementation of the UCC.
Muthalik said that the courts in India have also advocated for Uniform Civil Code, but it was neglected by the political parties in power earlier.
Criticizing the Congress leaders, Muthalik said, “The UCC could not be implemented in the country because of the appeasement politics of the Congress.”
Coming down hard on the Siddaramaiah-led government, Muthalik said the Congress government has started adopting an anti-Hindu stand. news network
