Rajkot: Rajkot Cyber ​​crimes Police have booked a delivery partner of an e-commerce company for hacking a customer’s account and cheating him.
In her complaint lodged with the cybercrime police, Chandrika Goswami, a high school teacher, alleged that she was approached by delivery man Ghulam Haider Salot. Customer DetailsReturned her order and then used the returned money in the wallet to make a purchase for herself.
As per his complaint, Goswami has two addresses saved mobile app of the e-commerce site – one at his residence and the other at his parents’ house. On June 1, she ordered two pairs of shoes, one at her home address and one at her father’s. The amount of two shoes was deducted from his wallet on the e-com site. Within a few days, Goswami got the delivery of both the shoes.
Salot called Goswami on June 8 and said that he had forgotten about the delivered goods and wanted to take a picture of the goods. Since there was no reason to disbelieve them, Goswami asked his father to allow Salot to photograph the shoes. Thereafter, the accused asked her to provide an OTP received on her mobile number, adding that it was required to be entered in the system to confirm the delivery. Goswami provided OTP.
On June 20, the teacher came to know that someone else’s mobile number is registered in her e-com account and also that her order has been canceled and refund has been issued against the canceled order. Goswami was shocked to find that the refunded amount was used to buy other things which were delivered to someone else’s address.
“The accused returned the duplicate shoes to the e-commerce website and used that refund to make purchases at his address,” said a police officer.
He said the police have booked Salot under the Information Technology Act and sections 406 and 420 of the IPC.
