Lucknow: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) got five days on Saturday return to prison of Dinesh Singh Gurjar, who was arrested under the PMLA Act, 2002. Gurjar is also the secretary of state Samajwadi PartyED said in its release.

ED sources said action was initiated against Gurjar following complaints that he was extorting money from people against whom a PMLA probe is going on in the infamous ‘Bike Bot’ scam at the Lucknow zonal office.
“Gurjar used to approach his victims with false promises of settling their ongoing PMLA probe and consequently getting their movable and immovable properties free from the ED,” ED sources said.

The investigation revealed that Gurjar violated “his relations with ED officials” and pressurized his victims to extort money which was directly or indirectly a part of the proceeds of crime.
“During the remand, several Gujjars will be questioned about their links with Sanjay Bhati, the main accused in the bike bot scam,” ED sources said. He will remain in remand till 26 July.
