When the project started in 2012, the developer planned to construct 2,000 flats. But some farmers and landlords moved the Allahabad High Court and stayed the allotment of land.
Supertech delivered only around 1,000 flats. Buyers of other flats approached RERA and got an RC issued against the developer.
In a two-page letter to the district magistrate on Friday, Supertech said the delay in delivery of the flats was due to reasons “beyond the control of the company”.
“In the absence of any favorable resolution of the issues, the construction activity has not been taken up,” the letter said.
It added, “…we are in written communication with the Yamuna Authority to resolve their issues and allow us to build peacefully.”
supertech chairperson Aurora told TOI that the delay in delivery of flats was not the fault of the company. “We are again approaching UP-RERA to withdraw the RC. RERA has started hearing our applications. We have also requested the district administration to stop the recovery proceedings of RC as we are willing to give and amicable settlement with the rest of the allottees.
Vandita SrivastavaADM (Finance) said, “The administration has received a letter from Supertech. We have not yet taken a decision on stopping the RC proceedings. If RERA withdraws these RCs and informs us, we will comply.”
