The Tambaram City Police Commissionerate on Friday launched an electronic beat system for police personnel using the ‘Smart Kavalar’ app. The Field Policing application was developed by the Tamil Nadu Police to digitally manage beat activities and leverage technology to make patrolling and field policing more efficient.
Tambaram City Police Commissioner A.Amalraj said, “The mobile app will record and track the details of beats and other field policing activities carried out by the personnel. This enables the senior officers to monitor in real time whether the beat constables visited the houses in the allotted beat/zone in a timely manner.
User/Beat Constable can also get different types of reports on data recorded during beat and other field activities. Station records such as ‘bad character’ check lists, lookout DBs, important locations can be tagged and stored on the app.
