Ruling DMK MLA in the Assembly TRB Raja on Wednesday raised a question related to breach of privilege of Governor RN Ravi for recording the proceedings of the Assembly using his mobile phone in violation of House rules as a ‘guest’.

Speaker M Appavu referred the matter to the Committee of Privileges.

After Question Hour, Raja said that on January 9, a ‘guest’ of Governor Ravi recorded the proceedings of the Visitors’ Gallery, the House, using his mobile phone.

On that day, Ravi was in the House to deliver his customary address of the year.

Raja said mobile phones were not allowed inside the House and recording proceedings was against the rules.

After seeing this, the MLA of the ruling party said that he has taken up the matter with the assembly authorities.

The MLA said he has given notice on the matter as it involves breach of privilege of the House. Raja urged Speaker Appavu to refer the matter to the Committee of Privileges. Approving it, Appavu said he was sending it for the consideration of the Privileges Panel.
