Surat: It is raining continuously in some parts of Surat. but the districtThe weir-cum-causeway in Tapi river started overflowing on Saturday. Water was flowing at a height of 6.81 meters in the Tapi river on the Causeway.
However, water receded from areas adjacent to drains in various parts of the city on Saturday.
Top officials of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) including Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal visited these areas. The officials discussed the reasons due to which waterlogging occurs and the drainage activity was also discussed.
Agarwal also discussed civic issues with the residents during the tour. The civic body started cleaning and sanitisation activity in these flood affected areas.
The water level has started rising in the Auranga river Valsad after which the residents Kashmir Nagar People were shifted to safer places in Valsad city. About 50 people from Kashmira Nagar, a low-lying area adjacent to the river, were shifted to shelter homes and provided food.
