Textile Markets Shut On April 17 | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: The FOSTTA has announced that the textile markets in the city will observe a holiday for Ram Navami on April 17. FOSTTA has announced a holiday on Ram Navami for the first time. In a letter announcing the holiday, FOSTTA president Kailash Hakim said: “Considering the demand of traders, we kept markets open on the day of Ayodhya ceremony on Jan 22. Now there is a demand for a holiday on Ram Navami, so we announce the holiday.’’
Majority of the textile market leaders have supported the move.FOSTTA is an association of textile traders operating from over 70,000 shops and 215 textile markets in the city.
