Adah Sharma’s film ‘The Kerala Story’ made its theatrical debut on 5th May and despite facing controversies, it is rocking the box office. The film recently crossed the impressive milestone of Rs 200 crore in global box office earnings, a significant feat as the first female-centric film to do so. However, after this milestone, the film experienced a gradual decline in its collections. On its 21st day in theatres, “The Kerala Story”, directed by director Sudipto Sen, saw a major drop in its box office performance. Sudipto Sen’s film highlights the issue of forced conversions and recruitment of Kerala women by the terrorist group Islamic State (IS).

As per trade reports, ‘The Kerala Story’ has registered its lowest ever collection on May 21, May 25 with an estimated earnings of Rs 3 crore. The cumulative collection of the film during 21 days now stands at Rs 213.17 crore. , On 25 May the film achieved an occupancy rate of 12.14 percent.

‘The Kerala Story’ features actress Adah Sharma as Fathima Ba, a Hindu Malayali nurse who is among the 32,000 women who went missing from Kerala and later joined ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).
