iPhone Xr Will Get New iOS Version But Does It Really Matter?
The new iOS version will be introduced even for 5 year old iPhone models but what good is it without new features.
Apple has confirmed that a wide range of iPhones will be receiving the new iOS 17 version later this year. But the company also mentioned models that won’t be getting the new iOS version, including the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X and the first-generation iPhone SE models.
Now, when you look at the list of iPhones getting the iOS 17 update, one model stands out in particular, and is probably going to be the worst iPhone on the list to get the new iOS 17 version this year. When the iPhone Xr came out, people quickly adopted it, as it was an iPhone that didn’t cost much (by Apple’s standards), and it became a smash hit. But now we’re in 2023, and the iPhone Xr is almost 5 years old on the market, and it has a single camera on the back and the first-gen wide notch that made its debut a year earlier with the iPhone X model.
You could say that with iPhones it’s not just about the specifications or the number of cameras, but the latest iOS software is tuned to deliver the best results in the latest model, which is exactly how Apple operates, regardless That’s where you get iOS 17. Most of the features Apple announced during the WWDC 2023 keynote this month are unlikely to make it to the iPhone Xr.
