Salem: Founder-president of the Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) and Panruti MLA T Velmurugan has slammed BJP for using the enforcement directorate (ED), income tax (I-T) and the central bureau of investigation (CBI) as three weapons against opposition parties.Speaking to reporters after participating in a meeting with his party functionaries and cadre in the city on Sunday, Velmurugan condemned the SalemPeriyar University for dropping Tamil Nadu higher education minister K Ponmudy’s name in the invitation for an event.He blamed governor R N Ravi for not giving his nod to start new universities in the state.TNN

Gujarat BJP functionary killed by her neighbors after quarrel; 3 held
A female member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat’s Amreli district was allegedly murdered by her neighbors following a dispute. The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the killing. The victim, Madhuben Joshi, was a local functionary of the BJP and had previously held positions within the party. The incident occurred after a minor accident outside Joshi’s residence, which escalated into a confrontation with the neighbors. Joshi’s son was injured in the attack, while she suffered a fatal wound on her arm.
