Two arrested for raping a 20-year-old girl. Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: The erstwhile all-women police on Friday arrested two notorious rowdies for allegedly raping a college student.
The police have identified the two as J Rajesh (22) and P Ravindran (22) of Laxmi Garden. Kondayampalayam in Coimbatore.
Police sources said the 20-year-old girl is a student of a college in Coimbatore city. “Her parents are separated and are not ready to support her studies. When he refused to give her money to pay for her college fees, she urged a friend to help her. The friend introduced her to Rajesh and Ravindran. Last Sunday, the duo met him and forcibly took him on a motorcycle to a lodge in Saravanampatti. They raped her several times till Tuesday and also threatened her of dire consequences if she complained.
However, the next day the girl lodged a complaint with the police. The police registered a case against the two under sections 366, 342, 376, 506 (ii) and 114 of the Indian Penal Code.
When police tried to nab them on Thursday, the men tried to flee, fell from a building and broke their legs. He was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and sent to judicial custody on Friday.
“Raveendran is facing a murder case and was a friend of Gokul, who was killed by a gang in February. Rajesh is facing three cases of assault.
