Two bikers killed in separate accidents | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: Two people including a college student were killed in separate road accidents at Chembarambakkam and Pallavaram on Friday night.
In the first incident, police said, Rajesh, a 20-year-old student of a city college, and his friend Sai Mahesh, 19, a student of another college who bought a high-end bike six months ago, rode on it to meet a common friend at Urapakkam.
When they were returning home on Tambaram-Maduravoyal Bypass Road, they hit another vehicle near Porur.
While Rajesh died on the spot, the Chromepet traffic investigation wing police rescued Sai Mahesh and admitted him to Govt Hospital in Chromepet.
In the other incident, Clara, a 40-year-old resident of Chembarambakkam near Poonamallee, died in a road accident when she was returning home with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter on her two-wheeler.
A van that came in the opposite direction on the service road hit the bike and they were thrown on the road.
Clara died, while her daughter is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The Avadi traffic investigation wing police registered a case and arrested the van driver Mukundan, 26, of Thirumazhisai.
