Two Dmk Cadres Killed In Road Accident Near Salem | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Salem: Two DMK cadres were killed and 10 other suffered minor injuries in a road accident near Gangavalli on Tuesday evening. The accident took place when they were heading to their hometown after attending DMK minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s election campaign.
The deceased have been identified as S Chelladurai, 50, and K Dhayanidhi, 30, both from Kamakkapalayam near Gangavalli.
A police officer said, as many as 20 people from Kamakkapalayam village had traveled to Thalaivasal in a goods carrier, to take part in the election campaign. They were returning to their village in the same vehicle, after attending the meeting. When the vehicle neared Navalur village near Gangavalli, the driver lost control in a blind turn, and the vehicle overturned.
“While two men succumbed to their injuries on the spot, 10 others suffered minor injuries,” the officer said. Gangavalli police sent the bodies to the government hospital in Attur for postmortem. The injured were treated as outpatients at the same hospital.
A case has been registered and further inquiry is on.
