Aurangabad: Two Maoists, wanted in several cases of extremist violence, including the murder of two CoBRA battalion soldiers and a villager, surrendered before Aurangabad SP Swapna Ji Meshram on Monday.
One of the Maoists is a teenager, while the other is Gora Yadav, a resident of Chechni village under Madanpur police station area of ​​the district. Both surrendered to the police with one SLR rifle (with magazine), 53 rounds of bullets and one country-made pistol.
According to the SP, 13 cases have been registered against Gora Yadav in Aurangabad district’s Madanpur, Dhibra, Amba and Dev police stations. “Both the Maoists also had cases registered against them in several police stations of Jharkhand, for which detailed information was sought from the Jharkhand Police. Apoorva Deka was killed and two other jawans- Ajit Kumar and Kankan Kakori were badly injured in a landmine blast triggered by them.” Meshram said.
The SP said, “In 2018, a Maoist attack was also carried out by these Maoists in Sudi Bigha village in which several vehicles were torched and a local resident Narendra Prasad Singh was shot dead.
In the same year, Maoists had an encounter with the police in Pachrukhia village, in which a soldier of the Cobra battalion was martyred. Gora was also involved in the incident.”
The SP said that he has surrendered after being influenced by the state government’s surrender policy of Maoists and the increasing pressure on them due to joint raids.
