Vadodara: Barodians It rained in torrents on Saturday and the city received about 5 inches of rain in just four hours, leaving many areas waterlogged. However, rain later in the day brought relief.

According to data collected by the district administration, Vadodara received 4.88 inches of rain between 2 am and 6 am on Saturday. Heavy rain was accompanied by lightning and thunder.
many areas of the city including Diwalipura, Subhanpur, vulture, Velvet, Sayajiganj, Undera, Dandiyabazar, MG Road and other areas were inundated due to heavy rains. The water receded in most of these areas as there was no significant rain till 4 pm.

Vadodara recorded only 1.5 cm of rain between 6 am and 6 pm. This includes 1 cm of rain between 4 pm and 6 pm.
The rains led to water-logging in the basements of commercial complexes in Sayajiganj area and other parts of the city. The situation was particularly dire in some campuses in the Sayajiganj area. Alkapuri railway underpass also got waterlogged due to heavy rains.
School and college students faced problems in the morning due to water-logging on the roads. However, by the time people started going to their workplaces, it came down in most areas.
Due to heavy rains in the morning, the level of Vishwamitri river reached 14 feet. However, in the evening the water level again decreased to about 10 feet.
