At least 261 people have been killed and nearly 1,000 injured in one of the worst rail accidents in the country.

BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Saturday urged fellow MPs to donate a part of their salary to help the families of the victims of the Odisha train accident. They should get support first and then justice, he said in a tweet.

Describing the disaster as heartbreaking, he said that people have to stand like a rock with the bereaved families.

In a tweet, Gandhi said, “I request all fellow MPs that we all come forward and donate a part of our salary to help these bereaved families.”
