Jaisalmer: The Indian Air Forces‘ biggest war exercise Vayushakti-2024 at Pokhran field firing range will begin on February 17. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, chief of three armies and other dignitaries are expected to attend and preparations have been started. More than 140 planes and helicopters are taking part, including fighter planes and transporter planes.Rafale is going to take part in the exercise for the first time. The dress rehearsal will be held on February 14.
A meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of district collector Pratap Singh Nathawat and SP Vikas Sangwan to determine the arrangements related to organizing Vayushakti Exercise at Air Force Range Gram Panchayat Chandhan.
Collector Pratap Singh said that Jaisalmer is pupular in the field of tourism across the world and such an event will further enhance its fame. He gave instructions to implement department-wise arrangements in a timely manner. Discussions were also held in the meeting regarding preparations for arrival of VIPs during the Vayushakti exercise.
