Tragic Accident: 16-year-old Schoolboy Dies in Surat | Surat News – Times of India

SURAT: A day before Uttarayan, two young people fell victims to road accidents in Surat city. While a 16-year-old boy was knocked down by a city bus in Udhna on Saturday morning, a 23-year-old man was knocked down by a state transport bus in Bhestan on Friday night.
The Udhna bus accident killing the minor boy comes barely three weeks after the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) issued strict guidelines against the bus operating agencies and their staff after the accident in Katargam.Eight persons were injured and one was killed when one city bus had crashed into another from behind on December 24.
On Saturday, Gaurav Bardoliya, a Class XI student and a resident of Shakti Nagar near Hari Nagar in Udhna, was going to school on his moped. He was on Udhna-Bamroli road near Ashapuri Society when the bus hit his moped. Gaurav fell down and became unconscious.
He was shifted to New Civil Hospital (NCH) in an ambulance but he was declared dead by the doctors.
His family was contacted on the basis of the information found on his identity card. Gaurav was a student of Experimental School in Parle Point. His father Rajesh is a fitness trainer.
Police filed an offence at Udhna police station.
In the other accident, 23-year-old worker Sagar Behera was knocked down by a state transport bus when he was walking on the road with a friend near the Honda Showroom in Bhestan area.
He died on the spot due to severe injuries. Behera lived in Bhestan.
Police registered an offence at Bhestan police station and started investigation.
