Vivek Oberoi talks about how being in the industry for such a long time gives him the freedom to choose roles.

When Vivek Oberoi entered the showbiz industry, he was bound to become a superstar as all his films bombed at the box office. Be it Shaad Ali’s Saathiya or Mani Ratnam’s Yuva, nothing could stop the actor from achieving glory. However, the momentum of his career declined in the later years and he faced struggles. He bounced back despite the challenges. In a recent interview, Vivek Oberoi talked about being selective about his roles and getting a ‘pay cut’ for working down south.

Speaking with Hindustan Times, the Saathiya actor explained, “I already know the ones that I have done just for money or just irresponsibly – out of insecurities as an actor – so I I already know those movies. Where I stand today, I have realized that I no longer need to do this. When you feel you have to do something for no other reason than for the joy and passion of it, then it is success or failure, it is an endeavor that works no matter what. Being in the industry for two decades has made you so empowered that you are able to stand behind something you love, that you believe in, that you are striving to do differently “

Vivek Oberoi also revealed that he wants to work in all South languages. He shared, “I decided that I wanted to do one film in each of the southern languages. Though I knew that whatever I charge in Hindi in other languages, I might not even get that fee. So, you take a pay cut and work hard in a language that is not natural to you.

On the work front, Vivek Oberoi will next be seen in ITI: Can You Solve Your Own Murder? Will appear in Along with acting, Oberoi will also produce the film.
