Mangaluru: Health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that a wave of change in politics will begin from Dakshina Kannada. He made these remarks at a consultative meeting with representatives of various communities, including Gatti, Kulal, Vishwakarma, Mogaveera, Devadiga, Christian, Brahman, Balyaya, GSB, SC, ST, Jogi, Rama Kshatriya, Ganiga, Savitha, and Madivala, which was organised by the Congress on Sunday.
Rao, who is district minister of Dakshina Kannada, emphasised that every individual should have the opportunity to develop.“The govt will work for the welfare of all communities. We have been witnessing a wave of change in the coastal region. We will ensure that all initiatives will be taken up to ensure justice for all,” he said. Briefing about the importance of casting vote, the minister called upon people to spread awareness among voters on voting.
Congress candidate R Padmaraj mentioned that the party has given an opportunity to the backward classes by offering him a ticket. “I will work as per the aspirations of the people, who have trusted me. A meeting has been organised to understand the problems of people from the backward classes,” he said. TNN
