WhatsApp scammer teaches a man ‘valuable’ lesson on money, friendship. view Post

Millions of people are falling prey to WhatsApp scams these days. While the instant messaging app has improved communication between two people, it has also invited new types of cyber scams like international calls, shopping links etc. However, amidst the news of scams related to WhatsApp, a post has surfaced where the scammer taught the victim an important lesson. A Twitter user named Mahesh has shared a screenshot of a chat with a scammer that has taken the internet by storm.

In the first screenshot, the scammer messaged Mahesh on WhatsApp, “Hello! I have something to share with you. Can I have a few minutes of your precious time?”

To this he replied, ‘I want to make friends.’

The scammer wrote, “Hi, this is Vien, I am from Global Group of Companies, Are you looking for a part-time job or a permanent job that will help you earn 500-5000 in just 5-30 minutes?”

Mahesh further added, “They are loyal and not two-faced like most of the people on this planet.”

The scammer replied, “Making friends is good, but making money is far better… Life is not just about love and friends, think about yourself first, think first how you will live in this world”.

The conversation between Mahesh and the scammer has gone viral.

One user wrote, “This conversation matters a lot brother.” Another said, “These people are more honest than most people I see and encounter every day. Talking with them is more genuine than most people I see around. Love them.” ” “Scammers got philosophical real quick.”

Separately, several Indian WhatsApp users received spam calls on WhatsApp, some of which purported to be spoofed. Now last week the central government has directed the messaging company to submit a report on the telecom carriers which were mainly used to create fake accounts.

WhatsApp has agreed to share the report with the government. The messaging app has also enhanced its artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) systems to reduce international scam calls.
