40,452 Students Appear For Class X Board Exam In District | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: As many as 40,452 students wrote language paper on the first day of their Class X board examination held across 158 centres in the district on Tuesday.
According to data from the school education department, 668 students were absent. A 230-member flying squad was deployed to prevent exam malpractices.
District collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inspected an examination hall at the Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School at Town Hall.Speaking to reporters, he said students from 526 schools, including 168 government schools, 58 aided schools, and 267 private schools, were taking the board exam in the district.
The district has set up 11 centres to secure question papers. Arrangements were made to transport question papers from these centres to examination centres by appointing 46 route officers, accompanied by armed police, he said.
He said, “We will identify absentee students and why they are absent. Subsequently, we will take actions to enable them to write supplementary exams.”
A total of 2,860 officers, including teachers, question paper controllers, principal invigilators, department officers, and room invigilators are involved in the examination.tnn
