Ncp (scp) Workers Getting Threat Calls, Says Sharmila Pawar | Pune News – Times of India

Pune: Sharmila Pawar, the sister-in-law of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, has raised concerns about alleged threats and pressure faced by NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) party workers in the run-up to the Baramati Lok Sabha seat election. She claimed that the party workers had received calls from the police, warning them not to attend events organised by the NCP (SCP) party. The police, however, said they have not received any such complaints.
“Our senior party workers have informed us that they are being pressured not to attend our events. I had gone to Malshiras village where I was informed that people are getting calls from police threatening people not to attend NCP (SCP) events,” she said.
Sharmila Pawar, who is actively involved in social work through her NGO Sharayu Foundation, alleged that despite these threats, party workers are attending events in large numbers due to their loyalty to Sharad Pawar.
These allegations come at a time when Supriya Sule, the sitting MP and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) probable candidate for Baramati, has also expressed concerns about the safety of her nephews —-Yugendra and Rohit — and demanded police protection for them.
During her visit to Indapur, Sharmila also criticised Ajit Pawar without naming him. “When someone decides to go into exile despite having everything, then Ramayana happens. But if you take away something from someone which leads to clashes, then Mahabharata starts. We must stop this Mahabharata here and ensure that tai (Supriya Sule) wins this election.”
NCP city union working president Pradeep Deshmukh said, “Our party does not need to threaten anyone for votes because the development works done by Ajit Pawar and Sunetra Pawar are enough. People have accepted our works, and it is visible through response on the ground.”
