Important meeting of SGPC today: Akali Dal split over the decision to remove Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh; Decision can be postponed

The meeting of the members of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is going to be held at Teja Singh Samundri Hall of Golden Temple in Amritsar today. Today, the ongoing speculations regarding the removal of Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh, may come to an end. According to the information received, a split is visible in the Akali Dal itself over the decision to remove the Jathedar.

After the arrival of Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh at the engagement of Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha and actress Parineeti Chopra, the process of removing them from the post started. Senior leaders of the Akali Dal informed that the decision to remove Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh from the Jathedari of Shri Akal Takht Sahib and Shri Kesgarh Sahib led to a split in the Akali Dal itself.
