Unidentified persons shot dead a driver in Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on Monday. The age of the deceased is said to be around 50 years. The incident took place in Kasidih under RIT police station area.

The police officer said that the deceased has been identified as Tilak Mahato. He was a resident of Chowka police station area and lived in a rented house in Kasidih. The incident took place when Mahato was returning home in the morning. Then three people came on a motorcycle and fired five shots. A bullet got stuck in the back of Tilak’s head. Mahato died on the spot.

IED blast during anti-naxal operation

Meanwhile, an IED blast took place in West Singhbhum district. During this, an officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured. Police said the incident took place near Patatorab village under Tonto police station limits when CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar and District Armed Police personnel were on an anti-Naxal operation in a forest. The injured officer has been identified as Rudrapratap Tiwari, Assistant Commandant, CRPF 197 Battalion. At present, his condition is said to be stable.

LPG cylinder explosion in Palamu

At the same time, 10 people were injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in a house in Palamu district. Police said that the accident took place in Arua village under Hariharganj police station area when a person named Ajam Rizvi used a gas-stove in the house. The fire from the gas-stove spread to the cylinder. The injured include three women and three children.
