Justice Ramesh D Dhanuka sworn in as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

Justice Ramesh D Dhanuka was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on 28 May. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais administered the oath of office to Dhanuka at the Raj Bhavan. Born on May 31, 1961, Dhanuka did his schooling in Mumbai.

He obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce and studied law at the University of Bombay.

He started practicing law in 1985 in the chambers of Justice DR Dhanuka (Retd.) of the Bombay High Court till his elevation as a Judge of the High Court of Bombay in 1990.

Mr. Dhanuka joined the chambers of SR Shah, a retired City Civil Judge and prominent senior advocate, in the year 1990.

He was on the Senior Counsel Panel of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai for the past several years and has appeared in a large number of cases representing the Municipal Corporation in the Bombay High Court.

Shri Dhanuka joined the Bombay High Court as an Additional Judge on 23 January 2012.
