Kolkata businessman duped City Jeweler of 39 lakhs. Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A city-based jeweler has been duped of Rs 39 lakh by a Kokata-based firm. Based on the complaint lodged by Ravi Bhalara (35) Mahidharpura Police on Saturday registered a case against the owner and business partner of the firm.

Bhalara is the owner of Tanvi Eternals firm in Mahidharpura. In November 2022, he along with his salesman Devdutt Chaurasia went to Kolkata’s ‘Mela Milan Exhibition’ and rented a stall there to display his real diamond gold jewelery collection.
Kolkata’s AK Enterprise’s partner Ajaykumar Satishkumar came to the stall and told Bhalara He owned a company dealing in gold jewelery in partnership with Arun Agarwal. Ajaykumar saw the samples and expressed his desire to buy jewelery worth Rs 45 lakh from Bhalara and exchanged cards. After Bhalara returned to Surat, Ajaykumar called her in late November and placed an order for jewelery worth Rs 45.45 lakh after selecting items from the catalogue. He also transferred Rs 6.3 lakh as advance payment in a few instalments. Ajaykumar assures Bhalara to pay after receiving the jewellery. But, after receiving the parcel, Ajaykumar did not make the balance payment and made excuses. So Bhalara took a flight to Kolkata on March 28, 2023 and reached Ajaykumar’s firm. Since the office was closed, he inquired about it and later found Agarwal.

Agarwal told Bhalara that Ajaykumar had fled after cheating some other businessmen and he (Agarwal) would take the responsibility of paying.
Bhalara returned to Surat on Agarwal’s assurance. But when he tried to call Agarwal for a payment reminder, his number was found switched off. After inquiring with other businessmen in Kolkata, Bhalara learned that Agarwal had also fled his office.
