Pillion Rider Killed In Road Accident | Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru/ Udupi: A pillion rider was killed in an accident in Bellare police station limits on Thursday night. In a complaint, Jabbar K, 40, said Mahammed Razik was riding pillion on the bike ridden by his relative Mahammad Musab at Boradka in Peruvaje village of Sullia Taluk when the accident happened.
Mahammad Musab, who was allegedly riding the bike in a negligent manner, hit a tree, following which they both fell from the bike.
The complainant, who was travelling in a car, stopped at the accident spot and took both the riders to Puttur Government Hospital, where Mahammed Razik succumbed to his injuries. Musab is undergoing treatment at the hospital. A case has been registered at Bellare police station.
Assault over trivial issue
A case and a counter-case have been registered at Punjakatte police station after an assault over an alleged trivial issue was reported on Thursday. In a complaint, Prathibha B Rai, 44, working as a cashier in a hotel, accused Keshav Poojary of abusing her using foul language.
She said Poojary had arrived near the hotel and invited an employee, Chandru, for a drink.
When she objected to this, he allegedly abused her. When her son reportedly questioned Poojary for his act, Poojary allegedly assaulted her son Hrithik.
When Chandru tried to intervene, he too was assaulted and threatened, it is alleged. A case has been registered under IPC sections 341, 323, 504, and 506. Meanwhile, based on a complaint filed by Keshav Poojary, a case has been registered against Hrithik Rai and Chandru.
Biker dies after vehicle skids off road
A bike rider lost his life after his vehicle skidded off the road near Korgi gram panchayat on Friday evening. Sandeep, who was allegedly riding his scooter in a negligent manner, sustained serious head injuries in the incident. He was initially taken to a nearby hospital from where he was later shifted to Kundapur Government Hospital, where he died. A case has been registered at Kundapur traffic police station.
