Rs 52.71 crore has been spent on the renovation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bungalow. This information has been given in the factual report sent to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena. The Vigilance Directorate of Delhi Government has sent this report to the LG.

News agency PTI quoted the report as saying that Rs 33.49 crore was spent on Kejriwal’s house, while Rs 19.22 crore was spent on his camp office. His old bungalow was demolished and a new bungalow was built.

AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar shared this video and said that the roof of Kejriwal's old bungalow had fallen 3 times. That's why renovation of the bungalow was necessary.

PWD minister had proposed a change
According to the report, in 2020, the then PWD minister proposed a change in Kejriwal’s bungalow (6, Flag Staff Road). He had said that the bungalow should have a drawing room, two meeting rooms and a dining room with a capacity of 24 people. For this, there was a proposal to build the second floor of the bungalow.

However, the Delhi government’s Public Works Department (PWD) had said that the bungalow should be demolished and a new bungalow built in the same premises. The PWD said the bungalow was built during 1942-43. It has been built for 80 years, so it would not be right to build a new floor on top of it.

PWD said that a new bungalow should be built in the same premises. After its completion, Kejriwal will shift to it and the old bungalow will be demolished. Based on this advice, a new bungalow was built there.

BJP had accused of disturbances

This report was submitted to the Lieutenant Governor on 12 May. It was signed by Special Secretary Vigilance Rajasekhar.

AAP bid – report does not prove crime
AAP has said that for the last 9 years, the BJP is trying to tarnish Kejriwal’s image, but they have not been successful in it. So, now they are targeting his house.

There is nothing in the report to prove that anything wrong has happened. For the first time in Delhi, an official residence complex has been built for the Chief Minister. This includes the Chief Minister’s residence, office secretariat, auditorium and staff quarters.
