Mangaluru: Six labourers sustained injuries after a portion of an under-construction bridge collapsed on Monday.
According to sources, the incident occurred in Punacha. The bridge, connecting Barenja and Nedyala-Kurudakatte Balnad, was in its final stage of construction.
The bridge collased while the concrete mix was being poured when a rod slipped from its position at the bottom, resulting in the structure’s collapse from the top, it is learnt.
An official from the Punacha gram panchayat said out of the six persons, three sustained minor injuries.
