Two Tasmac Bar Attendants, Cashier Held In Separate Incidents | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: Two Tasmac bar attendants and a cashier were arrested for illegal possession and sale of liquor bottles in two separate incidents over the past two days.
In the first incident two bar attendants were arrested for illegal possession of liquor bottles. The accused have been identified as U Anaimuthu, 48, from Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district and M Murugan, 42, from Keelakudiyiruppu in Pudukottai.Police also seized 143 liquor bottles which they had stocked up in a bar on Sanganoor Road. Police also registered a case against the bar owner, Ravikumar, under a few sections of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. They were apprehended when A Rajesh, inspector, Kavundampalayam police station, and his team conducted a surprise check at the Tasmac bar.
In another incident on Thursday, Kavundampalayam police arrested a Tasmac shop cashier for selling liquor bottles ahead of the scheduled opening time. The arrested was identified as Nagaraj, 38, of Amman Nagar in Kavundampalayam. A police team visited the Tasmac shop at Kovilmedu on Thadagam Road, following a tip off that the shop was opened early. Police seized 108 liquor bottles and 33,650 from the cashier. Preliminary inquiry revealed that he had sold 108 bottles to a Tasmac bar located adjacent to the outlet. The shop’s salesman Kundan, supervisor Rajesh and another staff Ramesh Kumar managed to escape. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
